Owned by or standing at David Walsh and Karan Haygood Walsh, referred to as Haygood Paints.
Mare owner or lessee (from here on out referred to as mare owner)

A $250.00 booking fee will be required as a deposit and will be applied to the breeding fee. All frees are non-refundable. All fees are due before said mare leaves the premises, or shipped semen will be shipped. *Please make checks payable to Karan Walsh*If shipping semen, in addition to this breeding contract, a shipped semen contract must also be signed and attached.
Multiple mare discount, 3 or more mares please deduct $50.00 per mare from the breeding fee. First two mares must be paid in full, thrid mare will receive the discount.
Mare care will be provided at $15 dry or $18 wet per day per mare. If mare owner brings their own hay fees will be discounted to $10 and $13 a day. Discount on mare care does not apply to breeding's bought though futurity's. Fees are subject to change with a 15 day notice. Mare care charges will be billed on the 1st of each month. A 15% late fee will be applied after the 10th of each month.
Breeding season start February 1st and ends Aug.1st. Limited stall space is avaliable for the months of February and March. If the mare barn is full, mare owner may have to wait for an opening or do shipped semen.
Mare owner is required to supply a copy of the mare's registration papers with this contract.
A veterinary certificate is required stating that the mare has beed examined, is breeding sound, and free from any disease or infections that might inhabit pregnancy or that could be transmitted to the stallion. Mare owner is responsible for any veterinarian bill(s) incurred by the mare while in the care Haygood Paints.
If for some reason mare or mare and foal must be hauled into an veterinary office, Haygood Paints will charge a $100 hook-up fee plus fuel.
Mare shall be halter broke and free of hind shoes upon delivery to the stallion. Haygood Paints reserves the right to refuse on site services to any mare(s) Haygood Paint deems too dangerous to breed. The mare will be able to receive shipped semen at mare owners expense.
Stallion owner may use whatever procedures are deemed necessary to insure a safe breeding procedure. Mare owner is responsible for all fees to get this mare in foal.
It is agreed that Haygood Paints shall not be held liable in the event of impairment, accident, injury or sickness or death to said mare and/or foal by her side, if any, and that Haygood Paints will have mare cared for in a manner reasonable and prudent. Likewise, it is agreed that mare owner shall not be held liable for accident or injury to stallion or other horses on the breeding premises. Mare owner agrees to assume any and all risk of loss or or damage to said mare and/or foal by her side.
Haygood Paints agrees to use all reasonable means to settle a mare. Three (3) breeding attempts must be made in the breeding season that the breeding was purchased, to qualify for a re-breed. Or mare owner will need to be able to submit a statement to Haygood Paints from a licensed veterinarian that the mare had been preg. checked in foal to qualify for a re-breed. Regardless of the breeding method or how the breeding was purchased. If mare does not get pregnant before Aug 1st of the breeding season, and/or fails to produce a "live" foal, the mare will be bred back the following year only at no charge other than that year's booking fee, current mare care, veterinarian charges, shipped semen fees, and/or expenses incurred by the mare while at Haygood Paints. A substitute mare maybe used with Haygood Paints approval. Mare or subsitute mare must be bred back the same year as the decease foal is born. "Live" foal is defined as one that stands and nurses within 48 hours of birth. If mare fails to produce a live foal, a veterinarian statement must be presented to Haygood Paints within 10 days of the birth
Should the said stallion die or otherwise become unfit for breeding this contract shall be null and void.
It is agreed that the breeding of horses can be a dangerous event and that all party's involved has knowledge of this. In the event that a person or persons are injured or a death occurs, that no one is to be held liable but themselves.
Providing mare owner complies with all the terms of the contract, Haygood Paints agrees to execute all documents after the birth of the resulting foal. Mare owner is to notify Haygood Paints of the birth, and please send pictures.

Signing of this contract by the mare owner so seems that the contract has been read, understood, and agreed to in all terms stated within. It is also agreed that in the event of any legal action resulting from this contract, mare owner shall be solely responsible for all-legal fees and costs to Haygood Paints and or agents. This contract represents the entire agreement between the two parties. No other agreement or promises, verbal or implied are included unless specifically stated in this written contract. This contract shale be interpreted under the laws of California and any dispute for which legal action is pursued relating to this contract shall be filed in the county of Madera, CA.
